Longlisted for Jackson’s Art Prize 2025

My work was included in the longlist for Jackson’s Art Prize 2025, an international open call for painting, drawing and print.
This year’s competition received over 12,000 submissions from 129 countries. From these, an extended longlist of 3,167 artworks was selected, before being refined to a final longlist of 932 works. To have my work included at this stage, within such a broad and competitive field, felt quietly significant.

Jackson’s Art Prize is known for its focus on material practice and painterly decision-making. That made the longlisting particularly meaningful for me, as my work is rooted in process, intuition and the physical act of painting. Each piece I make aims to hold a moment - a trace of energy, memory or presence - rather than illustrate a fixed narrative.
This recognition came during a period of steady development in my practice. I’ve been refining a body of work that explores stillness and movement, and how emotion can be carried through colour, surface and restraint. To see this work resonate within an international submission pool offered a moment of reflection and encouragement to keep trusting the process.
I’m grateful to the Jackson’s Art Prize team and judges for the consideration, and to everyone who continues to engage with my work through exhibitions, conversations or time spent with a painting.
The work continues.
